EV Charging 101

It’s completely free to join BlossomEV! BlossomEV is a platform that facilitates charging sessions between “Hosts,” EV owners and “Guests,” EV drivers We. We take 10% from each transaction to keep the platform running smoothly and to continuously improve your experience.
No. Our interactive map will show that a charger is available in your general area. It doesn’t provide your exact location or address. Your home address is only revealed to guests following your acceptance to proceed with a charging session for each, specific guest. We encourage you to review each potential guests’ feedback provided by previous hosts before accepting a charging request. Past feedback will provide you with an idea of what to expect from each guest.
Home EV chargers are typically level 2. The time it will take to charge depends on the output power of each Host’s charger and is measured in kWs. This is something to consider when you are selecting a Host location. A 15kW Host charger will take on hour and 20 minutes to provide 20kWhs or 2 hours to provide 30kWhs. Just divide the kWs of the Hosts charger by the number of kWhs you need. The kW rating of each Host charger is available in their listing on our platform.
This is what makes BlossomEV superior to the public fast charging experience. When you are choosing a charging location, make sure you review the previous guest feedback for each location as well as the “Amenities” offered by the Host. The amenities offered by each host are unlimited and included options like, free Wi-Fi, good nearby restaurants, nearby parks or beaches and safety features like good lighting or neighbourhood security. With BlossomEV, you can watch a movie, catch up on emails, enjoy a relaxing walk or try a new restaurant while you charge. Every Host experience will be different. So, choose the one that suits you the best.

Absolutely!. BlossomEV is tackling the range-anxiety problem by allowing you to reserve multiple charging sessions. You can locate and reserve charging sessions at times and locations along your trip route so you know that a charger will be waiting for you when you arrive at each stop. If your plans change, access the Blossom platform and adjust your reservation so your host is made aware of the change. Please make any changes with as much advance notice as possible.

Hosts earn $.60 per kWh of charging. The average cost of energy is $.18 per kWh. This provides the Host with $.42 per kWh of profit. An average charging session will deliver 30kW of energy to the Guest’s EV. That amounts to $12.60 in host profit for the session. In other countries where this model has been in place for multiple years already, Hosts are completing an average of 5 charging sessions per week. This adds up to an average of $63 per week of passive income for an average Host.

Got a regular charging routine? Recurring bookings let you reserve a spot-on specific days and times that fit your schedule. Whether it’s every Monday and Thursday from 8 AM to 4 PM or another pattern, you can plan ahead and book from your preferred dates.

Most insurance policies cover incidents that might happen in a parking spot. To be sure, we recommend contacting your insurance provider to confirm your coverage while using BlossomEV.

We get it—things come up! You can cancel your reservation at any time, but keep in mind that a cancellation fee may apply. Be sure to check out our Cancellation Policy for all the details.

BlossomEV is proud to be one of the first charging networks that doesn’t require prepaid credits. We’ve partnered with Stripe for simple and secure credit card payments, and transaction fees help cover the cost of this integration.

Absolutely! Even if you’re a host, you can still book charging stations at other locations, just like any other user.

Tax regulations vary by location. It’s a good idea to check your local tax rules. If you need a detailed statement of your earnings, just reach out to us at Community@BlossomEV.com, and we’ll sort it out for you.

We keep our hosts in the loop with notifications to avoid any mix-ups. If your spot isn’t available when you arrive, contact us immediately, and we’ll help by reaching out to the host or finding you a nearby alternative.

Yes. All bookings can be managed through our web application. You can access our platform at www.blossomev.com

Entering your license plate helps ensure a smooth and secure interaction between hosts and EV drivers. It minimizes any mix-ups, especially in locations with multiple parking spots. We keep your license plate information secure.

Location availability refers to the times when a host’s charging station is open for booking. It’s the timeframe that the host has set when their station can be reserved.

These are special periods when hosts can make their station available or unavailable outside their regular hours. For example, if a host is on vacation, they can mark their station as unavailable during that time.

Use BlossomEV’s flexible pricing tool to set hourly rates for your station, whether for one-time or recurring bookings. We’re working on adding even more pricing options in future app updates!

It’s simple! Just toggle off the ‘available on the map’ option in your location settings when you want to make your station temporarily unavailable.
